On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison, consumer journalist, writes about recent tests by Consumer Reports on arsenic in rice. Consumer Reports found significant amounts of arsenic in many of the rice products it tested.

It offers suggestions for reducing the amount of rice consumers eat. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a statement the same day the Consumer Reports findings were announced. The FDA said it also found arsenic in its preliminary tests of rice products, which were consistent with the Consumer Reports findings. However, the agency said its tests won’t be complete until the end of the year when it may or may not offer recommendations for consumers.
